Patricia Sullivan


Patricia Sullivan currently serves as associate dean in the College of Engineering at New Mexico State University with a joint appointment as Director for Workforce and Strategic Engagement in the Office of the Vice President of Research, Creativity, and Economic Development. Dr. Sullivan received her PhD in industrial engineering, and a master’s degree in economics from New Mexico State University. She is a recognized leader in STEM-based workforce development and outreach programming where she leads efforts to align academic programs with employer needs to foster economic benefits at the community level. She serves as lead for a National Science Foundation grant to advance engineering student career-readiness through augmented self-directed micro-credential learning, and is lead on technical assistance programming through several federal agency grants to foster energy efficiency and pollution prevention for small and medium businesses across New Mexico and El Paso, Texas. As lead for the newly established EPA funded South-Central Environmental Justice Resource Center, Dr. Sullivan is working with an experienced team of partners with a mutual passion and dedication to advancing environmental and energy justice across the five-state EPA Region 6.

Currently, Dr. Sullivan serves on the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education, is current chair of the College Industry Partnership Division for the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE).
