Gregory Pogue
Greg was the Deputy Executive Director and Senior Research Scientist at the IC2 Institute at The University of Texas at Austin. The Institute promotes inclusive economic development and the well-being economy through innovative thinking and entrepreneurial action. He was also an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Management of the McCombs School of Business. He taught undergraduate and graduate entrepreneurship and was a U.S. Fulbright Specialist studying entrepreneurial ecosystems.
At IC2, he led 13 community entrepreneurial ecosystem studies (in the United States and across the world) and assisted the design of more than 14 community economic development projects.
He also had extensive technology commercialization experience through senior positions in venture capital, six entrepreneurial ventures, technology transfer offices and as a scientific innovator himself.
Greg held a doctorate in molecular biology from Texas A&M University and a bachelor’s degree in biology from Midwestern State University. He passed away on August 19, 2025.
