New MOUs Offer Potential for Solar Demonstrations at PEDL Lands

Wahaj Solar

The first of two agreements is with Wahaj Solar. The MOU lays the groundwork for a demonstration of Wahaj Solar’s concentrated solar thermal technology at PEDL Lands. The initial concept would combine solar concentrators with thermal energy storage. The potential applications of this technology include providing heat for produced-water treatment and other industrial uses.

Voltiris

Voltiris’ technology involves a photovoltaic solar panel that transforms light energy (photons) into electrical energy while at the same time it allows light to pass through so that crops can grow. Traditional agrivoltaics technology has to contend with the difference in light in the space between the solar panels and that which is shaded by the solar panels. Voltiris is planning a site visit to evaluate potential deployment opportunities at PEDL Lands for their agrivoltaics technology.
