Thushara Gunda
Thushara is a Principal Member of Technical Staff at Sandia National Laboratories. Her research portfolio focuses on data-driven decision making in complex systems, including water resources, energy and security domains. Leveraging insights from interdisciplinary perspective is a key distinguishing feature in her work. Her research methods integrate techniques from data sciences, modeling and simulation, stakeholder engagement, open-source software development and domain-specific practices.
She holds a doctorate in environmental engineering from Vanderbilt University and earned B.Sc. and B.A. degrees in Environmental Science and Policy respectively from the University of Virginia.
She is a member of the American Geophysical Union and the Society of Women Engineers.
