As Senior Manager of the Climate Science and Analysis Group at Sandia National Laboratories, Dr. Ben Cook provides leadership and management direction for Sandia’s climate security initiatives and research capabilities. His group has several dozen researchers with expertise spanning atmospheric science, hydrology, energy-water systems analysis, climate modeling and impact analysis, and Arctic field operations. He also manages Sandia’s climate resilience program and discretionary earth science research investments, and he oversees Sandia’s research funded by DOE’s Office of Science Biological and Environmental Research. Ben leads Sandia’s Arctic research activities, including North Slope operations in Alaska. He also serves as the senior management champion of Sandia’s Grand Challenge discretionary research investment focused on climate attribution.
